Dr. Steven Morton
Find out what Dr. Morton enjoys most about what he does and what he likes to do outside of the office.
Meet Dr. Steven Morton of Orthopedics.
What got you into the field of medicine?
He liked anatomy and physiology in high school and college. Initially, he wanted to be like Quincy, M.D., a forensic pathologist, because he was very introverted and shy. Eventually his shyness went away. He likes puzzles and fixing things, so orthopedics was a better fit because he can fix things and get them back to where they were before.
What do you want patients to understand after the first visit with you?
They should know what their diagnosis is, and if they don't have one yet, how do we get to that diagnosis? It is a collaboration between him and the patient to get the patient to where they want to be.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
The most satisfaction is when someone tells him he's given them their life back. That's the most rewarding.
What do you like to do outside of the office?
He does a lot of road bicycling. In addition, he goes to the gym and does some exercise 5-6 times a week. He also likes good food and good wine, so he needs to balance it out.
